Science World

Science World is a hands-on science museum in Vancouver, home to hundreds of interactive exhibits, helping people experience science in new and fun ways. I was the lead Designer and Art Director on the account for two years.

For its advertising, we've highlighted the fun and quirky essence of the museum by bringing little-known science facts to life in fun and engaging ways. After all, show and tell makes learning science more fun and engaging – it’s a fact!

First up, “A Moment of Science” videos. We brought science to life through a series of fun demos to help spread the word about their online resource library – a database filled with engaging lesson plans and interesting experiments.

Next, to bring to life the science fact that Urine Can Produce Electricity, we created a unique urinal ad made from an iPhone wired up to a hidden battery pack and a target. When a user’s pee hit the target, it completed the circuit and the phone began charging. This caused the screen to illuminate which displayed the fact alongside the charging icon.

Science of Sports TV

For Science World's Science of Sports Exhibit, we created a TV spot featuring a little-known fact about running long distances

Science of Sports Print

And for Print and OOH, we dug up an all-star lineup of sports facts you won’t find on any trading card.

Featured in Luerzers Archive (2015).

Science of Sports Install

For this outdoor installation, we applied a water-repellent nano coating to the concrete outside Science World, creating an “invisible stencil” that gets refilled whenever it rains, revealing an insane fact about sweating:

And lastly, a TV spot that was banned on Canadian television because of excessive violence. lol.
